I am qualified as both a Chartered Psychologist and a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. Having completed a Masters and Doctorate in Counselling Psychology, identifying and treating a broad range of mental health conditions from different theoretical approaches, I chose to specialise in CBT. In my view, this approach provides an effective, focused, evidence-based therapy in a limited number of appointments. I have been practicing as a CBT Therapist, in the NHS, universities and private practice, for over 12 years.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is the treatment of choice, recommended by the NHS and NICE guidelines, for depression and a range of anxiety conditions listed below. If you would like to try CBT, it is important to find a therapist who is accredited by the British Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapists (BABCP).

They can accurately identify the most relevant cognitive model, adapt it to the client’s individual experiences and then suggest the most appropriate CBT techniques for clients to try out.
